What’s Going On This Fall In Valencia?

Summer may be behind us but fall in Valencia is arguably the most enjoyable season of them all! Cool yet sunny days combined with less tourists make Valencia a calm, comfortable and enjoyable city to live in during the fall.
.

Let us give you an insight into some of the things going on in Valencia during the fall season and what kind of events you can get involved in:

.

.

Open House 2020

Maybe not something most people have heard of seen as it was only the first edition of this festival last year. In its second year, the Open House event has the same goal as when it started, that is, to bring people closer to architecture in the city and introduce the public to some of Valencia’s most iconic buildings.

.
Also celebrated in New York, Milan, Athens and Lisbon to name a few, Open House is definitely a growing event across the world. You are able to access a virtual platform this year to make sure you don’t miss out on some of the opportunities that have unfortunately been prohibited in person. For more info check out this link:

.
Mercado de Tapineria
.

Mercado de Tapineria is an awesome place to try great local food and take part in local events. It is renowned for its diverse food stands and cultural activities. On the third week of every month, the Tapineria hosts “El Fabuloso Antique Market”. From the name you can guess it’s an event where you can find antiques, collector’s items, vintage furniture and more, while enjoying some live music too.
Also, from October 22nd to October 25th, the Mercado de Tapineria will be hosting another event called “Les Tendetes” where everybody can enjoy local shopping at unbeatable prices.

.

The Silence Museum

Yes we know it sounds strange but just remember Halloween is right around the corner! The guided tours are hosted every Saturday. Valencia’s main graveyard is included in one of the routes giving a tour of some of the famous local people who have been buried there. Including the famous painter Joaquín Sorolla, the writer Vicente Blasco Ibáñez and the singer Nino Bravo.
.

Hiking

In fall, hiking is absolutely one of the best activities to get involved in! Why? Because the sunny weather is still here and it’s just not as hot as summer, allowing us to enjoy nature and not feel the wrath of the sun!

.

Explore some of the “Green Routes” which can be found inland from Valencia city. Here’s a list of some of the most well known route you may want to check out: the “Ruta del Agua” in Chelva, the “Ruta del Acueducto de Peña Cortada” in Calles, the “Ruta de los Puentes Colgantes” in Chulilla, and the “Ruta de los Chorradores” in Navarrés.

.

If you would like to plan a Fall trip, there is a special voucher to be used across the Valencia region for any residents which grants up to 70% off excursions and get aways! To find out more about this voucher, follow this link.

.

As you can see, there are a range of activities to enjoy in Valencia during Fall 2020 even in these difficult times. While you partake remember to stay safe and abide by the health regulations, and the fun awaits!
