The Fallas 2017 : A festival of noise and fire !

Every March, the city of Valencia gets ready to welcome the spring with the Fallas festivity. From the 15th to 19th March, the streets will be filled with joy, hustle and bustle converting Valencian towns into ephemeral street art museums. This year more than ever, the festivities will be intense as the Fallas has been classified as UNESCO intangible heritage of mankind.

Between tradition and history…

The origin of the festival of the Fallas goes back to the old tradition of the carpenters of the city, who on the eve of the feast of their patron Saint Joseph, burned their old wooden contraptions in front of the workshops in order to illuminate the streets and public squares while they worked in the winter months. For that reason, the bonfire of the Falleros Monuments always coincide with the day 19, during the Feast of St. José.
